Blaqbonez says fan rivalry keeps Wizkid and Davido relevant, driving trends and engagement in Afrobeats over the years.

Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has attributed the sustained relevance of Afrobeats stars Wizkid and Davido to ongoing rivalry between their fanbases.

Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the rapper said competition among fans plays a significant role in keeping both artists consistently visible in the music industry.

According to Blaqbonez, while artists themselves may maintain mutual respect, rivalry among supporters should not be discouraged, as it drives engagement and public interest.

“Wizkid and Davido can never fade. That hatred is the reason why they will be relevant forever. When they love each other, it is over,” he said. “Artists can love each other, but the fans should never love each other.”

He added that the competitive dynamic between fanbases ensures both musicians remain trending and continue to dominate conversations within the Afrobeats scene.

Wizkid and Davido are widely regarded as two of Africa’s most influential artists, with careers spanning nearly two decades and strong international recognition.
