Apple Music has released its official “Detty December” statistics, confirming Wizkid, Asake and Davido as the most-streamed African artistes across Sub-Saharan Africa during the 2025 festive season.

According to the data, the trio maintained their dominance throughout December, with their music serving as a major soundtrack for concerts, parties and holiday celebrations across the region.

Davido recorded the season’s biggest song with “Galorizzy,” featuring Mavo and Ecool. The track emerged as the most-streamed song of the period, receiving widespread airplay at social events and entertainment venues.

Other top-performing songs included CKay’s Body (danz)” featuring Mavo, and “Money Constant,” a collaboration between DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tunez, Wizkid and Mavo, highlighting continued cross-border musical partnerships.

Apple Music’s figures also reflected strong performances from emerging acts. Young Jonn posted multiple charting records with “2Factor” and “Lalala,” while FOLA gained increased visibility with songs such as “Caricature” and “You.”

On Shazam, South African artiste Al Xapo recorded the most-identified song of December with SNOKONOKO,” reinforcing the sustained popularity of Amapiano across African nightlife spaces.

The Detty December rankings further showed a blend of local and international artistes, including Burna Boy, Rema, Gunna and Drake, pointing to growing global crossover within African music consumption.

Apple Music’s data suggests African sounds continue to expand their influence beyond the continent as 2026 begins.
