Nollywood actress Uche Montana has spoken about her relationship status, stating that fame, personal standards, and lifestyle expectations have influenced her decision to remain single.

The actress made the remarks during an interview on the Uncut Xtra Podcast, where she reflected on her background and career journey. Montana said she grew up in a middle-class family and began working early in life, an experience that shaped her independence and ambition.

“I wasn’t born with a silver spoon,” she said, explaining that her father was a farmer while her mother ran a business. She added that she took up a teaching job shortly after secondary school, earning N10,000 at the time.

According to Montana, while her acting career has brought recognition and opportunities, it has also complicated her personal relationships. She noted that finding a suitable partner requires more than attraction, describing the need for a “special kind of man” who understands her lifestyle and responsibilities.

She also highlighted societal perceptions that can affect dating, stating that successful or attractive women are often assumed to already be in relationships, which may not be the case.

Montana further acknowledged the contributions of veteran actors in Nollywood, noting that the current generation continues to build on the foundation laid by earlier pioneers in the industry.

Her comments reflect broader discussions about the impact of fame, expectations, and societal assumptions on relationships within the entertainment sector.
