For decades, Abdul Salam Taofeek has entertained audiences on screen. But this week, the veteran Nollywood actor found himself at the centre of a very different conversation—one rooted in heartbreak, family, and trust.

According to The PUNCH, the actor, popularly known as Tioroju Mondusi, opened up about one of the most painful chapters of his personal life during an appearance on the African A-List podcast.

Taofeek revealed that he eventually learned that some of the children he had raised were not biologically his. The actor described the discovery as a devastating experience that continues to affect him years later.

Speaking about the ordeal, Taofeek said the problems in his marriage began when his wife, who was heavily pregnant at the time, reportedly disappeared from home for several days without explanation. He claimed that events later took an even more troubling turn when he discovered she had allegedly carried out an introduction ceremony with another man while they were still married.

The actor further alleged that his wife later questioned the paternity of the child she was carrying, a development that intensified tensions within the marriage and eventually led to legal proceedings.

According to Taofeek, the truth emerged during court hearings following the breakdown of the relationship. He claimed his wife admitted that two of the children he believed were his were fathered by another man.

The revelation, he said, left deep emotional scars and dramatically changed the course of his family life. Despite the pain, Taofeek also reflected on the fact that his former wife has since passed away, expressing hope that she would be forgiven.

Beyond the personal tragedy, the actor’s story has struck a nerve across social media, where Nigerians have been debating issues surrounding paternity disputes, marital trust, and the emotional consequences of deception within relationships.

While the allegations remain Taofeek’s account of events, his interview has reopened wider conversations about transparency in marriage and the legal and psychological impact that paternity fraud can have on families. For many listeners, the story is a reminder that some of life’s most difficult battles happen far away from the spotlight.
