According to The Sun Nigeria, controversial Nigerian musician Speed Darlington has spoken openly about his long stay in the United States, saying the experience brought him little personal or professional fulfillment compared to what he achieved after returning to Nigeria. Why America wasn’t favorable to…

The artist revealed that he spent over two decades living in the US but believes the period did not work in his favor. In a recent video shared online, Darlington said that instead of financial success or stability, his time in America resulted mainly in repeated arrests and legal trouble.

He explained that after leaving the US, he was able to establish himself financially in Nigeria, including building a mansion with income earned locally. According to him, his music career and public profile grew more rapidly after relocating, allowing him to enjoy a level of comfort he never attained abroad.

Darlington also reflected on the emotional toll of living in the United States, stating that the environment negatively affected his confidence and sense of belonging. He said he often felt isolated and struggled socially, which made daily life difficult for him during extended stays.

The singer added that while he values having the freedom to travel to the US to visit family when necessary, he no longer sees it as a place where he can thrive long-term. He stressed that Nigeria provided him with opportunities, recognition, and financial rewards that he did not experience while living overseas.
