According to The Nation, Shatta Wale made the revelation during a conversation with Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Adesope. The artist said Ghana’s music industry and the support he receives locally have played a major role in building both his career and wealth.

Shatta Wale explained that he has always viewed himself as an international act, but believes Ghana gives him the kind of recognition and value that matches that status. For him, the country's understanding of music culture has created opportunities that many outsiders may not fully appreciate.

Beyond performance fees, the musician pointed to the influence and respect he enjoys across different sectors of Ghanaian society. He said the level of regard he receives from event promoters, government officials, political figures and other key stakeholders has strengthened his brand over the years.

That support, he noted, also translates into bigger investments in his concerts. According to the dancehall star, promoters are willing to spend heavily on production, which allows him and his team to deliver large-scale shows that meet audience expectations.

The comments also shed light on why Shatta Wale is often selective about international bookings. The award-winning performer revealed that he regularly declines offers from the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe because the fees do not compare with what he can command at home.

Rather than accepting performance deals he considers below his value, he said he prefers to focus on markets that recognise the scale of his brand. He also suggested that economic challenges in Europe and Western countries may be affecting entertainment budgets and event spending.

Shatta Wale further stated that his earnings from Ghana have supported the luxury lifestyle he has maintained for more than a decade. Referencing international rap stars such as Lil Baby and Lil Durk, he said his spending habits reflect the level of success he believes he has achieved.
