Rwandan singer Kalisa Uzabumwana Sharif, popularly known as Shaffy, has announced plans to perform in Ottawa, Canada, marking another step in his expanding international music journey.

The artist, who is currently based in the United States, revealed the upcoming concert through a message posted on his Instagram account, confirming that the event will take place in May 2026. Additional details about the venue and exact date are expected to be released in the coming days.

Shaffy is known for several popular songs including “Akabanga,” “Sukuma,” and “Naruguyemo.” Over the years, he has built a growing fan base across Rwanda and within the African diaspora, while also working with music support platform Rock Hill earlier in his career.

The announcement comes after a series of performances that have strengthened his presence in the regional music scene. Shaffy recently performed in Kigali at a concert celebrating Kevin Kade’s five years in music, held at the Kigali Convention Center, which attracted strong support from local fans.

He also appeared in Kampala, Uganda, where he performed alongside The Ben during a concert organized around Valentine’s Day celebrations, further extending his reach beyond Rwanda.

The planned performance in Canada is expected to bring Shaffy closer to Rwandan and African audiences living abroad, while continuing to position his music on a broader international stage.

Promotional material for the event indicates that the show will take place in Ottawa, with more information expected soon as preparations continue.
