SARS Filing Season 2026 is active. Check tax return deadlines, auto-assessment rules, required documents and how to file online.

South Africa’s 2026 personal income-tax filing season is underway, with different deadlines applying to non-provisional taxpayers, provisional taxpayers and trusts.


Non-provisional individual taxpayers who were not auto-assessed must submit their returns by 23 October 2026. Provisional taxpayers who still need to file have until 22 January 2027, while the trust filing period starts on 19 September 2026 and also closes on 22 January 2027.


Taxpayers can file through SARS eFiling or the SARS MobiApp.
