Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has commented publicly on the arrest of Evans Eshun, widely known as Ebo Noah, following weeks of public attention surrounding a failed flood prophecy.
In an Instagram story posted on January 2, 2026, Sarkodie reacted to a video showing Ebo Noah in handcuffs being escorted into a police vehicle. The award-winning artiste said he was unsure of the specific offence committed, adding that he had believed from the outset that Ebo Noah was creating content.
Sarkodie stated that unless additional charges had been filed, the widely publicised prophecy should not necessarily be taken literally.
Ebo Noah, a 33-year-old Ghanaian content creator and self-styled prophet, gained nationwide attention in late 2025 after predicting that a catastrophic flood would begin on December 25, 2025.
He claimed the flood would last three years and documented the construction of wooden “arks” in locations including Elmina and Kumasi, sharing the process on TikTok and YouTube.
After the predicted flood did not occur, Ebo Noah said prayers and fasting had persuaded God to postpone the disaster.
Public concern escalated after he appeared on stage during Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert on the same day the flood was expected to begin. On December 31, 2025, the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team arrested him in the Weija-Gbawe area for allegedly spreading false information and causing fear and panic.
On January 2, 2026, the Adentan Circuit Court remanded Ebo Noah into police custody for two weeks and ordered a psychiatric evaluation at Pantang Psychiatric Hospital. He is expected to reappear in court on January 16, 2026.
