A Saturday morning crash in Lagos has thrown fresh concern around Nigerian music promoter Sam Larry, after reports claimed his vehicle was involved in a deadly collision.

According to Naija News, Sam Larry, whose real name is Balogun Eletu, was reportedly hospitalised after an accident along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The report said the crash involved his vehicle and a trailer, leaving the car badly damaged.

The incident reportedly turned fatal for Sam Larry’s bouncer, who was said to have died at the scene before emergency responders arrived. Photos and videos shared online showed a heavily damaged vehicle, sparking worry among fans and people in Nigeria’s entertainment space.

Comedian and master of ceremonies Mario Wazobia helped bring attention to the incident on Instagram, where he asked Nigerians to pray for Sam Larry. He also shared more images from the crash scene, saying reports suggested the bouncer had died while Sam Larry was taken to hospital in critical condition.

As of the time of the reports, Sam Larry’s family and management had not released an official statement on his health. Authorities had also not publicly confirmed the full details of the crash, including what caused the collision.

Pulse Nigeria also reported that videos of the damaged vehicle were circulating widely on social media, but noted that official information about the crash remained limited. That uncertainty has left many Nigerians waiting for clearer updates from Sam Larry’s representatives or Lagos authorities.

Sam Larry is a familiar name in Nigeria’s entertainment circles, especially within Lagos nightlife and music promotion. His public profile has often placed him at the centre of online conversation, making news of the crash spread quickly across social platforms.
