Safi Madiba is scheduled to headline a major New Year concert in Edmonton, Canada, on January 2, 2026. The event, set to take place at Serengeti BBQ, is designed to bring together East African music fans living in the city.

The concert, titled “East African Take Over,” is expected to be one of the key cultural events welcoming Edmonton residents into the new year with music and entertainment.

Speaking to InyaRwanda, Safi Madiba said he is preparing a special performance for his Canadian audience, noting that the show marks an important moment early in his 2026 schedule. He added that 2025 was a productive year, highlighted by his return to Rwanda and the completion of a new album set for release in 2026.

Safi Madiba said he looks forward to meeting fans in Edmonton and plans to present selected songs from his upcoming album during the show.

The lineup will also feature several artists from across East Africa, including Niyo D, Tony, Really Lit, African Boss Mandela, Lil Jiji, MFS Jkeys and Quando. Organizers say the diverse roster aims to offer a blend of sounds representing the region’s music culture.

According to event organizers, the goal is to give 2026 a vibrant start by promoting music, community connection, and cultural unity among East Africans living in Edmonton.

The concert is expected to attract Rwandans, Tanzanians, Ugandans, Kenyans and other African music enthusiasts residing or working in the city. For Safi Madiba fans and supporters of East African music, the event offers an upbeat way to begin the new year.
