Nigerian Afrobeats star Rema has been confirmed as one of the performers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

FIFA announced the lineup through an Instagram post, revealing that the Nigerian singer will share the stage with several international music stars during the opening celebrations in Los Angeles.

The lineup includes American rapper Future, pop singer Katy Perry, Brazilian artist Anitta, South African singer Tyla, and K-pop star LISA.

According to FIFA, the selected artists were chosen to reflect the cultural diversity and global influence of the United States ahead of the tournament.

In a statement, FIFA said the opening ceremony in Los Angeles “represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become.”

The organization added that the performers represent “the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrance of its many diasporas,” while highlighting music’s ability to unite audiences worldwide.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
