Ghanaian rap icon Obrafour has said he feels uncomfortable when fellow musician Sarkodie kneels before him in public as a sign of respect.

In a TikTok video sighted by Graphic Showbiz, Obrafour explained that while he appreciates the gesture, it often leaves him feeling embarrassed and reflective about whether he deserves such reverence.

According to the veteran rapper, Sarkodie frequently prostrates to greet him in recognition of his influence on the younger artist’s career. Obrafour, however, said he believes such honour should be directed to God rather than himself.

“Sarkodie is huge, but anytime he sees me and wants to kneel before me, it sometimes embarrasses me. I ask myself, who am I for Sarkodie to lie on the floor for me?” he said.

Obrafour also spoke about his personal faith journey, revealing that he lost his relationship with God following the death of his mother. He said the loss deeply affected him, leading him to question his beliefs at the time.

He explained that his perspective changed after the success of his song Pae Muka, which marked a major breakthrough in his music career. According to him, the success made him reflect on what he described as divine intervention.

“But when I did ‘Pae Muka’ and it blew, I sat back and analysed what happened and could tell it was through God’s power,” he said.

Obrafour added that this realization is why he feels uneasy when people praise or elevate him excessively for his musical achievements, stressing that he attributes his success to God.
