The film, directed by Chinaza Onuzo and produced by Isioma Osaje, held its worldwide premiere on January 28, 2026, before opening to cinema audiences on January 30. Since its release, the movie has drawn attention for its contemporary storyline and ensemble cast.


Everything Is New Again features Mercy Aigbe alongside Vine Olugu and Desmond Elliot. Aigbe plays Funmi, a 45-year-old interior designer whose life takes an unexpected turn when she enters a romantic relationship with a younger man named Ekene. The narrative examines how their connection confronts social expectations and long-standing stereotypes around age and relationships.


The film explores themes of love, desire, ageing and second chances, presenting an emotionally grounded story that reflects modern relationship dynamics. Its tone blends wit with introspection, aiming to resonate with a broad adult audience.


In addition to screenings across Nigeria, the production is also scheduled to show at Silverbird Cinemas in locations such as West Hills and Accra Mall in Ghana, extending its reach to audiences across West Africa.


With its focus on mature romance and strong performances, Everything Is New Again is positioned as one of the notable romantic drama releases of the year.
