Meghan Markle could make a rare return to the United Kingdom later this year, depending on the outcome of security arrangements linked to Prince Harry’s ongoing case with the UK Home Office.
The Duchess of Sussex has not visited the UK since the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, while Prince Harry has made several solo trips since then. Recent developments, including a reported meeting between Harry and his father in September 2025, have raised speculation about a potential shift in family relations and future plans.
Prince Harry is currently awaiting a significant decision regarding his security status in the UK. The outcome is expected to influence whether Meghan would consider travelling with him for official engagements.
One such engagement could be linked to the Invictus Games, the international sporting event for wounded, injured, and sick service members founded by Harry in 2014. The Games are scheduled to return to the UK in 2027, and reports suggest that Harry may attend a preliminary event in Birmingham this year. Meghan is said to be considering joining him for that appearance if adequate security measures are approved.
Meghan has continued to support the Invictus Games publicly while focusing on expanding her lifestyle brand, As Ever. However, she has previously indicated that personal safety concerns remain a decisive factor in any potential UK travel.
It remains unclear whether the couple’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, would accompany them. Sources suggest that a family visit would only be considered if security arrangements are fully resolved.
Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have declined to comment while plans are still under discussion.
