Simi’s manager dismisses rumours of a divorce between the singer and Adekunle Gold, describing a viral court document as fabricated.

The manager of Nigerian singer Simi has dismissed reports circulating online that the artiste and her husband, Adekunle Gold, are getting divorced, describing the claims as false.

The rumours gained traction after a document surfaced on social media, allegedly presenting a divorce petition filed by Adekunle Gold. The document, dated February 28, 2026, claimed the couple’s marriage had “irretrievably broken down” and included allegations of emotional, financial and professional control.

According to Simi’s manager, Vincent, the document is fabricated and contains several legal inconsistencies that clearly show it is not authentic.

“It’s fake and fabricated. First, stage names are not tenable in any court of justice worldwide, as indicated in the document. Even the suit number on the document is backdated to 2024,” he said.

Some online posts suggested that the alleged petition had been filed at the High Court of Lagos State, further fueling speculation among fans. However, the manager’s statement has sought to dispel the claims and clarify that no divorce proceedings exist.

The rumours also intensified after older social media posts attributed to Simi resurfaced, with some users interpreting them as hints of marital tension. In addition, Adekunle Gold’s recent return to social media after a short break prompted further speculation among followers.

Background of the Couple

Simi and Adekunle Gold began their relationship as friends and music collaborators before dating for several years. The pair eventually married in January 2019.

They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Adejare (Deja), in 2020. Reports earlier in 2026 also indicated that the couple had welcomed twins, a development widely celebrated by fans.

The couple recently marked their seventh wedding anniversary, sharing tributes to each other on social media amid continued public interest in their relationship.
