LAGOS, Nigeria — August 23, 2026 — Nigerian singer Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, has announced the death of his mother, Esther.
The Mavin Records artist shared the news in an emotional tribute on social media on Sunday, saying he was still struggling to process the loss.
According to Punch Nigeria, Magixx described his mother as a major source of strength in his life and said he was finding it difficult to accept that she was gone.
TVC News also reported the singer's announcement, confirming that he identified his mother as Esther in the tribute.
Magixx pays emotional tribute to his mother
In his message, Magixx reflected on his mother's strength and the impact she had on his life.
He said she had spent years fighting through illness while continuing to support her family, friends and people around her.
Punch reported that the singer referred to the last six years as a particularly difficult period in which his mother continued to remain positive despite being unwell.
