Entertainment pundit Nana Kojo Mula has tipped Ghanaian rapper Medikal to win the Artiste of the Year award at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).

Speaking during an interview hosted by Prudent Himself, Kojo Mula said Medikal demonstrated consistency and impact throughout the year under review, describing the rapper as a strong contender for the top honour.

According to Kojo Mula, Medikal’s live performances played a key role in his assessment, particularly the Beyond Kontrol (BYK) concert, which he described as a defining moment in the awards race.

He noted that Medikal has delivered standout performances across major platforms, including the 3Music Awards and the TGMA stage, earning recognition as a high-level live performer.

Medikal has been widely mentioned by music fans as a leading candidate for the Artiste of the Year category following a successful 2025. His song “Shoulder,” featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, won Song of the Year at the 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards.

The rapper also released his album “Disturbation 2” in October, which features collaborations with Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Olivetheboy.

His Beyond Kontrol Concert at the Accra Sports Stadium attracted a large audience and featured performances from several top Ghanaian artistes, including Wendy Shay, Sarkodie and Kofi Kinaata.

Medikal had earlier described 2025 as his “selfish year,” focusing on personal growth and artistry, a strategy that appears to have yielded positive results.
