Kiitan Bukola is not interested in being placed inside a box.

The Nollywood actress, filmmaker and content creator is pushing back against the idea that a woman who dresses well, looks glamorous or carries herself with confidence must be morally loose. For her, beauty and faith are not enemies.

According to Saturday Sun, Kiitan Bukola, whose full name is Oloruntimilehin Bosede Bukola, opened up about the message behind her latest film, God Fearing Baddie, a project built around the danger of judging people by how they look.

The actress said many people often misunderstand her because of her appearance. While some may see her outside and assume she is just a “baddie,” she said her private life is deeply rooted in prayer, fasting and her personal relationship with God.

Bukola explained that she prays often and sometimes fasts alone without being pushed by anyone. For her, true spirituality is not about how someone dresses, but about sincerity, a pure heart and a real connection with God.

That message sits at the heart of God Fearing Baddie. The film explores how people, especially women, can be wrongly judged because of fashion, confidence or beauty. Bukola says the story is one many families will understand because almost every home has someone who feels misunderstood.

Known for moving comfortably between Yoruba and English-language productions, Kiitan Bukola has built a career around versatility. But beyond talent and screen presence, she credits prayer as one of the biggest forces behind her growth in Nollywood.

She said prayer has played a major role in her career journey and believes God has been faithful to her through the ups and downs of the entertainment industry.

Bukola also challenged the popular belief that a fashionable woman cannot be God-fearing. In her view, being a “baddie” simply means taking pride in one’s appearance and expressing individuality. It does not automatically point to bad behaviour or poor values.

Her point is simple: a woman can love God, dress beautifully and still live by strong principles.
