Ghanaian musician Kelvyn Boy has explained that his growing distance from the church is not due to a conflict with God, but rather concerns about how the institution operates today.
Speaking on the issue, the singer said his perspective has changed over time based on what he has observed within church environments. He noted that his disappointment stems from both leadership and the behaviour of some members.
Kelvyn Boy pointed to practices he believes do not reflect the values the church promotes. While acknowledging that some pastors genuinely support people and contribute positively, he argued that others fall short in their responsibilities.
He also criticised what he described as judgmental attitudes among some churchgoers, particularly when individuals are assessed based on appearance or social status.
According to him, these experiences have influenced how he now views the structure and organisation of church services, which he believes have lost their intended meaning.
Despite his concerns, Kelvyn Boy said he remains open to returning to church in the future if he sees meaningful improvements in how Christianity is practised and organised.
