Rwandan hip-hop group Tuff Gang is preparing to release a new collaborative album that will feature vocals from the late rapper Jay Polly, according to group member Bull Dogg.

Bull Dogg, whose real name is Ndayishimiye Mark Bertrand, said the album project was initiated while Jay Polly was still alive and has since been carefully completed to preserve his artistic contribution. He made the remarks during a media interview on Monday, December 22, 2025.

The rapper explained that the decision to proceed with the album was motivated by a desire to honor Jay Polly’s role within Tuff Gang and his broader influence on Rwanda’s hip-hop scene. Jay Polly, born Tuyishimire Joshua, was a founding member of the group and remains one of the most influential figures in the genre locally.

According to Bull Dogg, the album will include songs that were recorded with Jay Polly prior to his death, alongside previously produced tracks that have been updated to align with current production standards. The project brings together core Tuff Gang members, including Bull Dogg, Fireman, Green P, P-Fla, and Jay Polly.

He added that the group is engaging with investors and sponsors to ensure the album is released professionally and generates sustainable returns, reflecting lessons learned from their years in the music industry.

Fans have widely anticipated the release, viewing it as both a tribute and a continuation of Jay Polly’s musical legacy. The approach mirrors international precedents in which music groups have released posthumous projects to preserve the work of deceased members.

Bull Dogg emphasized that the album is being developed in unity and respect, with the aim of safeguarding Tuff Gang’s artistic heritage while reinforcing its position in Rwanda’s evolving hip-hop landscape.
