The new O'Level process uses a separate result-verification address identified in JAMB's 24 August instructions; verify the current address through JAMB's official channels before entering personal or payment information. Avoid agents or copycat websites requesting your password, OTP or payment to “activate” an admission.
What Is JAMB CAPS?
CAPS means Central Admissions Processing System. JAMB created it to manage and track tertiary admissions, reduce multiple admissions and allow candidates to confirm provisional offers.
Institutions recommend candidates through CAPS, JAMB checks and approves eligible admissions, and candidates then accept or reject the offers. JAMB also states that candidates awaiting WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results must upload their O'Level results before they can be considered for admission.
What You Need Before Checking
Have the following ready:
The email address connected to your JAMB profile
Your JAMB profile password
Your 2026 JAMB registration number
A phone or computer with internet access
Access to the telephone number used for JAMB registration, where SMS confirmation is required
If you have forgotten your password, use Forgot your Password? on the official e-Facility login page. Do not pay an online stranger to recover the account.
How to Check JAMB CAPS Admission Status in 2026
Step 1: Open the official JAMB portal
Go directly to https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/login. Confirm that the address belongs to jamb.gov.ng before entering your details.
Step 2: Sign in to your JAMB profile
Enter the email address and password used for your JAMB profile. Select Login to open the e-Facility dashboard.
Step 3: Select Check Admission Status
Find and select Check Admission Status on the dashboard.
Step 4: Choose the admission year
Select 2026 as your examination year. Enter your registration number if the portal does not fill it automatically.
Step 5: Open CAPS
Select Access My CAPS. The CAPS dashboard should open in a new page or tab.
Step 6: View Admission Status
Select Admission Status from the menu. Check all the information carefully, especially:
Your name and registration number
The institution offering admission
The programme or course
The admission status
Do not accept an offer until you have confirmed that the institution and programme shown are correct.

How to Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS
If CAPS displays a congratulatory message and an approved admission offer:
Review the institution and course.
Select Accept Admission.
Confirm the decision when prompted.
Sign out and log in again to confirm that CAPS now records the offer as accepted.
Save a screenshot or PDF of the confirmation for your records.
Depending on the confirmation method displayed by JAMB, candidates may be directed to use the telephone number linked to their JAMB profile. Where the SMS option is provided, send ACCEPT to 55019 or 66019 from the registered number. Follow the exact instructions shown by JAMB and confirm afterward that the status changed on CAPS.
Candidates who cannot use the registered number, cannot complete the confirmation or are asked for biometric verification should visit a JAMB-accredited CBT centre or JAMB office.
JAMB's 2026 admission policy gives successful candidates a four-week window to respond to an approved offer. Do not wait until the final day.
Should You Reject an Admission Offer?
Reject an offer only when you are certain that you do not want the institution or programme.
Rejecting an offer does not guarantee that another school will admit you. Accepting an offer normally ends consideration for competing admission offers for that session. If the course or institution is unexpected, first check Transfer Approval and speak with the institution or an accredited CBT centre before making a final decision.
Never let an agent accept or reject an offer without your permission.
What the Different CAPS Messages Mean
Congratulations, You Have Been Offered Admission
JAMB has approved an offer. Review the school and course, then accept or reject it within the permitted period.
Admission in Progress — Check Back Later
Your application is still being processed. This is not a final admission offer. Continue checking CAPS and your institution's official portal.
Not Admitted or Sorry, No Admission Has Been Given Yet
No approved offer is currently on your CAPS profile. It does not always mean that your application has been finally rejected; the institution may still be processing admission batches.
Recommended or Proposed
Your institution may have recommended you, but JAMB has not yet completed the approval process. Do not treat this as final admission until CAPS displays an approved offer.
Transfer Approval
The institution may be proposing a different programme because you were not selected for the original course. Open Transfer Approval, review the proposed programme and make a careful decision.
Accepting a programme transfer is not automatically the same as accepting the final admission; continue monitoring CAPS until an admission offer appears.
How to Fix the Blank CAPS Page on a Phone
Some candidates see only a white page or the word Welcome because the CAPS menu is hidden in the mobile layout.
On Google Chrome:
Open the CAPS page.
Tap the three-dot menu.
Select Desktop site or Request desktop site.
Allow the page to reload.
Look for the menu on the left and select Admission Status.
If the page still does not work, clear the browser cache, try another browser or use a computer at an accredited CBT centre.
Why the Accept or Reject Buttons May Not Work
The buttons may be unavailable when:
No final offer has been approved
The institution has only recommended the candidate
The page has loaded in mobile view
A course transfer is waiting for a response
The registered telephone number or biometric confirmation is required
The portal is experiencing temporary congestion

JAMB Now Lets You Upload O'Level Results From Home
JAMB announced on 24 August 2026 that candidates can now verify and upload O'Level or SSCE results without visiting an accredited CBT centre solely for the upload.
The change links JAMB's e-Facility with examination bodies so that a candidate's result can be checked against the issuer's records before it is added to the JAMB profile. JAMB says the integration is beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
The home-upload option is intended to reduce queues and unnecessary CBT-centre visits while limiting manual-entry mistakes, mixed-up paper results and the use of unverified or fraudulent certificates. The announcement was issued in Abuja through JAMB Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol Dr Fabian Benjamin and was reported by The Guardian, Punch and the federal broadcaster Voice of Nigeria.
What you need for the home upload
“Already uploaded your O’Level result? JAMB says you do NOT need to upload it again or obtain a new verification code solely because of the new verification system. Previously uploaded results remain valid and will continue to be recognised, subject to any verification required by your institution.”
Prepare the following:
Your National Identification Number, or NIN
The number of O'Level sittings you want to use
The examination body for each sitting
A working email address
Your GSM number, preferably the number connected to your JAMB profile
A debit card or bank-transfer option for the verification charge

How to verify and upload your O'Level result from home
JAMB's 24 August instructions describe a two-stage process: first verify the result, then apply it to your JAMB profile.
Stage 1: Verify the result
Open the designated result-verification platform. JAMB's instructions identify buyresultsverificationcode.ng; confirm the address through JAMB's official website or verified communication before paying.
Enter your NIN and select Verify NIN.
Choose the number of sittings you want to use.
Select the correct examination body or bodies.
Enter your email address and GSM number.
Select Pay Now and complete the verification payment using a debit card or bank transfer.
Enter the examination number, examination series and examination year for each selected sitting.
Verify the result and obtain the Verification Code.
JAMB had not stated one universal verification price in the announcement reviewed for this update. Confirm the amount displayed by the approved payment gateway before authorising payment.
Stage 2: Upload the verified result
Send VERIFY followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019 from the appropriate GSM number. Follow the spacing and format displayed by JAMB when the code is issued.
Wait for a notification confirming that the result has been uploaded.
If you are combining two sittings, follow the notification directing you to JAMB e-Facility.
On the e-Facility dashboard, select 2026 UTME O'Level Upload.
Enter the Verification Code to display the two verified results.
Select the subjects required for your proposed course. JAMB says candidates must choose at least five and no more than nine subjects, without selecting any subject twice.
Select Apply the O'Level Results.
Keep the successful-upload notification or take a screenshot for your records.
Does this work for WAEC, NECO and NABTEB?
JAMB says direct integration is beginning with WAEC. Candidates using NECO, NABTEB or another examination body should select only an option that appears on the live verification platform and follow JAMB's current instructions. Do not assume every examination body is already active simply because it appears in an older guide.
Do you still need a CBT centre?
You no longer need to visit a CBT centre merely to upload a supported result through the new home-verification process.
An accredited CBT centre or JAMB office may still be necessary if:
Your NIN or JAMB profile details do not match
You cannot access the GSM number linked to your profile
The examination body or result is not supported by the new system
Verification fails or the result displayed is incorrect
JAMB requests biometric confirmation
The result does not appear on CAPS after a successful notification
After uploading, return to CAPS and confirm that every subject and grade appears correctly. A result uploaded only to a university's screening portal may not automatically appear in JAMB's system.
What to Do After Accepting Admission
After CAPS confirms your acceptance:
Print or download your JAMB admission letter through e-Facility when the service is available for your offer.
Check the institution's official admission portal.
Follow the school's acceptance-fee and clearance instructions.
Confirm that your name, programme and institution match across both portals.
Keep copies of your JAMB result slip, admission letter, O'Level result and payment receipts.
JAMB's admission letter and the institution's admission letter are different documents. A school may require both during registration.
2026 Admission Benchmarks and Deadlines
The 2026 policy meeting approved these national minimum tolerable scores:
Universities: 150
Colleges of nursing sciences: 150
Polytechnics and monotechnics: 100
Colleges of education, colleges of agriculture and Innovation Enterprise Institutions: 100
These are national minimums, not automatic admission guarantees. Institutions and competitive programmes may set higher requirements. JAMB also states that the minimum admission age remains 16 years.

Common JAMB CAPS Questions
Can I check CAPS without my email address?
The e-Facility portal requires the email address and password linked to the JAMB profile. Use the official password-reset option or visit an accredited CBT centre if you cannot access the account.
Do I need to re-upload my O’Level result after JAMB’s new verification-code change?”
No, if the result was already successfully uploaded.
Can I accept admission on my phone?
Yes. Use Chrome in desktop mode if the full CAPS menu does not appear. Follow any registered-SIM or biometric confirmation instruction displayed by JAMB.
Can my school admit me without JAMB CAPS?
JAMB says admissions outside CAPS are not recognised. A candidate whose name appears only on a school portal should continue monitoring CAPS and contact the institution if the offer does not appear.
Does “Not Admitted” mean I have lost admission?
Not necessarily. The school may still be processing candidates or additional admission batches. Keep checking until the institution closes its exercise.
Can I change course after accepting admission?
Do not assume that CAPS acceptance automatically authorises a course change. Contact the institution and follow JAMB's approved correction or change process where required.
Is checking admission status free?
Checking CAPS through the official portal does not require payment to an agent. Separate JAMB services, such as printing an admission letter, may require an official portal payment.
Can I upload my O'Level result from home in 2026?

Must I visit a CBT centre to upload my WAEC result?
