Ghanaian singer and songwriter Fameye has stirred reactions online after revealing the amount he claims is needed to release his next song.
In a Facebook post, the “Praise” hitmaker wrote: “I need 1 million dollars to release my new song!! #myown.” The statement quickly attracted mixed reactions from fans and entertainment industry observers.
While some social media users viewed the comment as humorous or exaggerated, others suggested the singer may have been referring to the rising costs involved in producing and marketing music on a global scale.
Fameye, whose real name is Peter Famiyeh Bozah, has become one of Ghana’s most recognised musicians through songs including “Nothing I Get,” “Mati,” “Long Life,” and “Praise.”
The singer is widely known for his emotional storytelling and lyrics focused on perseverance, gratitude and life struggles. Over the years, he has grown from an underground artiste into one of Ghana’s most sought-after performers.
Fameye has also earned nominations and recognition at major award events, including the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
Beyond music, the artiste has built a reputation for openly sharing his opinions and experiences on social media, often discussing the realities of the entertainment industry with fans.
Although he did not explain the details behind the reported $1 million budget, the post has renewed conversations around the high financial demands of music production, promotion, visuals, branding and international distribution in today’s music business.
