Nollywood actor Faith Ifeoma Onwuson, popularly known as Honeypot, says early fame has brought both new opportunities and added complications as she continues her rise in the film industry. The 23-year-old performer and content creator discussed her journey, challenges and aspirations in an interview with Saturday Sun.

Onwuson, who grew up in a family of seven and attended UNIZIK schools, said her passion for acting began in childhood. She served as a drama coordinator in primary and secondary school and participated actively in church performances. Despite studying a different discipline at the university, she pursued acting full-time after graduation.

She described her path as steady rather than sudden, noting that her growth came from multiple film appearances and consistent visibility through content creation on Instagram and TikTok.

According to the actor, navigating the industry has presented challenges, particularly dealing with individuals who attach personal expectations to professional opportunities. She said maintaining integrity has guided her decisions.

Onwuson noted that visibility has been another hurdle, explaining that no single project propelled her to fame. Instead, she credits her progress to cumulative work across films and online platforms.

Among her roles, she identified playing a ghost in a film as her most emotionally demanding performance, citing the intensity of the makeup and late-night filming.

The actor said she considers herself her own biggest influence, explaining that she draws inspiration from observing her growth and performances.

She highlighted originality as her key strength, describing her approach as authentic and unfiltered, which she believes sets her apart from other emerging talents.

Speaking on the impact of fame, Onwuson said public recognition has brought both support and pressure. She added that assumptions about public figures often complicate personal relationships, noting that she is currently single.

Regarding future ambitions, she expressed interest in action films and roles she has not yet explored, such as portraying a pregnant woman.

Onwuson confirmed experiencing sexual harassment from a producer early in her career, saying she withdrew from the production to protect her safety and values.

While she has not rejected any film roles yet, she said she may decline overly sexual roles in the future, especially if in a committed relationship.

On her personal preferences, she said she hopes to be with a caring and mature partner, ideally in his late twenties or thirties.

For now, Onwuson is focusing on expanding her online presence and creating digital content while awaiting new film opportunities in the coming months.
