Davido predicts Asake, Rema and Omah Lay will become Afrobeats’ next GOATs and reveals his dream collaborations.

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has identified Asake, Rema and Omah Lay as the artists he believes will define the next era of the genre.

The award-winning singer shared his views during a recent livestream conversation with popular Nigerian streamer Carter Efe. When asked about the future of Afrobeats, Davido said the trio represents the next generation of global stars expected to follow the dominance of what is widely referred to as the genre’s “Big Three” — himself, Wizkid and Burna Boy.

“Asake, Omah Lay and Rema are the next GOATs of Afrobeats,” Davido said during the session.

The comments come as Afrobeats continues to gain international recognition, with younger artists expanding the genre’s global reach through chart success, international tours and major collaborations.

During the livestream, Davido also spoke about his personal ambitions, revealing that he hopes to collaborate with global pop icon Rihanna in the future. He added that American singer Kehlani is another artist he would like to work with.

“I would love to do a song with Rihanna. I think we would make some dope music. Kehlani as well,” he said.

Davido, founder of the DMW record label, remains one of Africa’s most influential music exports, with multiple international awards and chart-topping releases to his name.
