Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, tells the singer to wish for a good wife and children during his 35th birthday celebration.

Burna Boy’s 35th birthday celebration came with music, laughter, and one very direct motherly reminder.

According to the original report, Bose Ogulu, Burna Boy’s mother and longtime manager, encouraged the Grammy-winning Nigerian star to think about marriage and children during a private birthday gathering on July 2.

The moment happened while Burna Boy was making birthday wishes in front of close friends and family. In a video shared on Snapchat by one of his associates, Richie 7, the singer wished for “good health and prosperity.”

His mother quickly stepped in with her own addition, telling him to include “a good wife and children” among his wishes.

The comment drew laughter and reactions from guests at the celebration before the clip later began circulating on social media. For many fans, it was a familiar African family moment: no matter how successful you become, your mother may still ask when you are settling down.

Burna Boy, born Damini Ogulu, has built one of the most powerful careers in African music. From winning a Grammy to selling out major arenas and taking Afrobeats to global stages, he remains one of Nigeria’s most influential artists.

But the birthday exchange also showed another side of the superstar — the family man behind the public image, still being lovingly pressured by his mother like many African sons.

The video has since sparked conversation among fans, with some laughing at Bose Ogulu’s timing and others agreeing that even global fame does not stop African parents from asking about marriage.

For Burna Boy, the birthday wish was simple: health and prosperity. For his mother, the list was not complete without a wife and children.
