In a significant development in the murder case of Ucheena Okirie, a former student at the University of East Anglia (UEA), Benjamin Katabana has pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder. The incident, which occurred at Somerleyton House in Norwich, involved a fatal stabbing that resulted in Okirie's death from a single stab wound to the chest.
Katabana, a 28-year-old Congolese national, appeared via videolink from Norwich Prison during a plea and trial preparation hearing at Norwich Crown Court. Judge Anthony Bate has set the trial date for May 18, with proceedings expected to last between five and seven days. Katabana remains in custody as the legal process unfolds.

The tragic loss of Ucheena Okirie, who was in his 30s and known for his remarkable character, has deeply affected his family and friends.
