Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has shared details about a personal relationship that inspired one of her songs, revealing that she remains uncertain about whether to make it public.

The music star made the revelation during a recent episode of Roc Nation’s The Intern series, where she discussed the inspiration behind her song Where Do We Go.

According to Starr, the track reflects the emotional uncertainty she feels about a private relationship and the question of whether it should remain hidden or be shared publicly.

“‘Where Do We Go’ is inspired by a private relationship. Are we going to stay hidden or come out to the world? I’m kind of like in the middle so like where do we go,” she said.

The singer explained that the song captures the dilemma of navigating love while maintaining privacy, especially as a public figure.

During the interview, Starr also spoke about her admiration for global superstar Rihanna. She revealed that if she ever had the chance to intern for someone in the industry, Rihanna would be her top choice.

“If I have to intern for anyone it would be Rihanna. I would get the coffee. Anything she wants me to do, I will do it,” she said.

Ayra Starr has previously mentioned in several interviews that Rihanna was a major influence on her music career and one of her childhood idols.

The singer continues to gain international recognition, with her music resonating widely across Africa and beyond.
