Apple Music Nigeria has unveiled its 2025 year-end chart, naming Asake the most-streamed artist of the year. His single “Why Love” leads the platform’s list as the top-streamed song in Nigeria for 2025.

The track marks a key milestone for the singer, as it was released under his independent label, Giran Republic, following his departure from YBNL. The success of “Why Love” positions him among the few Nigerian artists to achieve a No.1 hit while launching an independent imprint.

Wizkid secures second place with “Kese (Dance)”, a standout from his 16-track album Morayo, released on 22 November 2024. Despite its late-year release, the song maintained strong momentum throughout 2025 and remained among Apple Music Nigeria’s top-performing tracks for months.

Davido follows in third place with “Funds”, featuring Odumodublvck and Chike. Released ahead of his 2025 album 5ive, the track recorded high streaming activity, boosted by online engagement and anticipation for the project.

Asake makes a second appearance on the list at No.4 with “MMS” featuring Wizkid. The song, from his 2024 album Lungu Boy, experienced renewed popularity in 2025, driven by the strong collaboration between both artists.

Closing the top five is Davido’s “With You” featuring Omah Lay, the final track on his 5ive album released in April 2025. The song benefited from the album’s commercial visibility and consistent presence on major streaming charts.
