Nollywood actress Annie Idibia has stated that she does not consider herself a single mother despite being estranged from her husband, music star Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.

In a post shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the actress clarified her position while reflecting on motherhood and personal growth. Annie said she identifies as a single woman raising two children, rather than a single mum.

“I’m not a single Mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids,” she wrote.

Annie added that her children do not require her to be married but to be emotionally present and authentic. “My children don’t need me married. They need me alive. They need me true. They need me free,” she stated.

The actress also reposted a message by Instagram user #katyeneff, who describes herself as a “Feminine Magnetism & Aliveness Activator,” aligning with the theme of personal empowerment.

Further explaining her stance, Annie said her journey is not about “doing it alone,” but about “legacy work—breaking the chains that told women to stay small, silent or suffering ‘for the kids.’”

She emphasized that her growth and peace directly impact her children’s well-being. “My kids get to watch me grow. They get to watch me rise. They get to see a woman rebuilding her world with joy not bitterness. That is the greatest gift I’ll ever give them,” she added.

Annie Idibia and 2Baba have been in the public eye for years, with aspects of their relationship frequently drawing media attention.
