Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a presenter at Wontumi FM in Kumasi, has been invited by the police for allegedly spreading false information about Ghana's December 2024 elections.

During a recent broadcast, he claimed voting would occur on two separate dates: December 7 for candidates listed first to sixth on the ballot and December 8 for the remaining candidates. This misleading information, also circulated on social media, prompted police action.

In a statement, the police labeled the claim as false, warning it could disrupt public peace. "The media must act responsibly as the nation nears the election period," the statement read.

Oheneba has been instructed to report to the Ashanti Regional Police Command for further investigation. Authorities reminded the public that spreading false news can severely impact national stability.
