The Rwandan government accuses opposition leader Victoire Ingabire Umuhoza of being involved in a plan to take over the government.
The case includes members of the DALFA Umulinzi party, which is not officially registered. They are accused of planning to remove the government without using violence, by learning and using technology.
Prosecutors say that even though Victoire Ingabire’s name is not officially in the case, she is responsible because she organized her supporters and brought in foreigners to train them.
At this time, the prosecution is still presenting its evidence. Ingabire has not yet responded to the accusations.
Also among the defendants is journalist Theoneste Nsengimana of Umubavu TV, who is accused of having helped to disseminate the defendants' plans so that they could be known.
