Senior security officials from the Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP) member States (Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda)
The Rwanda Defense Force's official X account confirmed the convention, explaining the main purpose of the gathering of senior security officials from the Northern Corridor Integration Projects (NCIP) member states (Kenya, Rwanda, and Uganda). They convened in Kigali for a defense cluster meeting aimed at assessing achievements and reviewing joint projects in the field of defense among member states.
The convention was focused on assessing specific joint projects where Rwanda, Uganda, and Kenya have collaborated to address security issues both regularly and in particular situations. Each military force will assess achievements and review joint defense projects among member states, with a focus on security in the Great Lakes region. The implementation of these projects is expected to begin as soon as possible, as agreed upon by all participants. This convention highlights how these joint efforts among Northern Corridor states will take place.
Will this convention resolve the issue of M23, the main problem in East Africa?
The question remains whether this collaboration will address the challenge posed by the M23 rebel group, which continues to destabilize the region.
