John Dramani Mahama has criticized the Akufo-Addo Bawumia administration for mismanaging Ghana’s economy and neglecting Westren region.

Writing on Facebook on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, Mahama blamed the government for rising food prices, poor infrastructure, and the lack of development in communities.

“The hardships we are facing… is because of the criminal supervision of the destruction of our economy by Nana Akufo-Addo and Mahamadu Bawumia,” Mahama wrote.

During a meeting with the Western Regional House of Chiefs in Sekondi, Mahama noted the frustration of traditional leaders over the region's underdevelopment. He expressed disappointment with the poor state of roads and the stagnation of progress.

“This is not the Western Region I’ve been visiting,” Mahama said, promising that the next NDC government will prioritize improving farmers' living conditions and developing infrastructure under the agenda to “Reset Ghana.”
