DRC: Top PPRD Leaders Banned from Leaving Country Over Security Concerns

Aubin Minaku, Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary, and Ferdinand Kambere Banned from Leaving the Country
On Monday, March 10, the Direction Générale de Migration (DGM) (General Directorate of Migration) announced that some top leaders of the Parti du Peuple pour la Reconstruction et la Démocratie (PPRD) are not allowed to leave the country. These leaders include Aubin Minaku (Vice President), Emmanuel Ramazani Shadary (Permanent Secretary), and Ferdinand Kambere (Deputy Permanent Secretary).
The government made this decision for national security reasons. They want to stop these people from escaping or doing illegal activities. Authorities have been told that if these individuals are found at the borders, they must be arrested and handed over to the proper officials.
The government has also asked security officers and customs officers to be very careful and follow the instructions from the DGM to make sure this ban is strictly enforced.
On the same day, about ten top members of the PPRD were questioned at the military court in Kinshasa/Gombe. They were asked about security issues, including accusations that they worked with M23 rebels (a group supported by the Rwandan army).
This travel ban is part of efforts to investigate and prevent possible threats to the country’s security.
