American rapper Curtis James Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent, recently shared that his current favorite song is 'Me & U' by Grammy Award-winning Nigerian artist Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems.
In a viral interview clip posted on Tuesday, the hip-hop legend said,
“My current song on repeat is ‘Me & U’ by Tems,”
highlighting the track as his go-to hit.
'Me & U' is the lead single from Tems' critically acclaimed debut studio album, Born In The Wild. The song gained significant attention when it won the Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award at the 2024 BET Awards, sparking controversy.
Critics argued that a secular artist's song should not have won the category, which typically honors gospel icons such as Kirk Franklin, Shirley Caesar, CeCe Winans, and Maverick City Music.
