Arsenal legend Paul Merson says the Premier League title race is “over” after Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United on Sunday.

Despite Arsenal controlling most of the game at Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes scored a free-kick just before halftime to give United the lead. Arsenal equalized with a goal from Declan Rice.

The draw leaves Arsenal 15 points behind league leaders Liverpool, though Arsenal has one less game played.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson said,

“I would say now that Arsenal need to focus on securing a top-four finish in the Premier League. Liverpool are too far ahead. They have only lost one game all season. [The title race] is over.”

Arsenal’s next league match is at home against Chelsea.
