The campaign targets 641,851 people aged one year and older. The vaccination drive is focused on four high-risk areas: Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, Effia-Kwesimintsim, Shama, and Ahanta West municipalities. It started on Sunday, December 15, and will run until Thursday, December 29, 2024. Dr. Nana Yaw Ofori Yeboah, the Western Regional Director of GHS, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that anyone over one year old can take the vaccine, except pregnant women. He assured the public that the vaccines are safe and urged everyone in the target group to take part in the campaign to reduce cholera cases. Congolese authorities accuse the American tech giant of concealing war crimes, laundering forgeries, and deceiving consumers, according to an article in the French media Le Monde This complaint marks the beginning of a series of legal actions. "This is a first round of complaints. There will be others," assured lawyer Robert Amsterdam , whose firm Amsterdam & Partners is defending the DRC. He explained that Apple was chosen because of its economic influence and its communication about environmental commitments. Le Monde quoted Amsterdam, stating: "Apple is undoubtedly one of the most symbolic targets, because of its financial power and its unbridled communication on the theme 'we are doing good for the planet'." The statue, put up on November 6, 2024, has faced mixed opinions since its creation. On December 16, 2024, people noticed that the statue’s left leg was broken. The Ghana Police Service has started investigating the incident to find out who is responsible. On social media, especially on X (formerly Twitter), many people have shared their thoughts. Some feel the damage was illegal, while others think the statue shouldn’t have been built in the first place. One user said, “What’s the importance of that statue? Akufo-Addo hasn’t lived up to expectations and doesn’t deserve that statue built for him. He’s not Kwame Nkrumah.
