New York, Sept 23, 2025 — On the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo launched one of the most ambitious visions of his presidency: DRC Digital Nation 2030.
Before a packed room of investors, global partners, and business leaders, the Head of State described digital transformation as the key to unlocking Congo’s vast potential, creating millions of jobs, and ensuring shared prosperity for the Congolese people.
If we are gathered today, it is to affirm a clear and measured ambition: to make the Democratic Republic of Congo a prosperous digital nation and a technological hub at the heart of Africa by 2030,” Tshisekedi declared.
A Paradigm Shift for Africa’s Future
The president highlighted that Congo’s wealth in rare and critical minerals essential to global digital and energy transitions gives the country a natural role in shaping the future. By building robust digital infrastructure, modern governance, and innovation ecosystems, he said the DRC will become both a catalyst for investment and a provider of solutions to global challenges.
Digital transformation, Tshisekedi stressed, has been central to his development policy since 2019. He reaffirmed his conviction that by 2030, the DRC will stand as a “driving force for inclusive and shared digital peace.”
Strategic Pillars of the Digital Agenda
The “Digital Nation 2030” roadmap rests on:
Infrastructure – expanding connectivity across Congo’s vast territory.
Content & Usage – enabling digital services for education, health, and finance.
Governance & Regulation – creating a business-friendly and transparent digital ecosystem.
This multi-pillar policy, Tshisekedi emphasized, is designed to deliver a mature, resilient, and sustainable economy powered by technology.
International Backing and Business Climate
The president expressed gratitude to companies and partners who have already invested in Congo’s digital economy, calling them “proof of the confidence placed in our country.” He reaffirmed that improving the business climate is his government’s constant priority.
To hesitant investors, Tshisekedi delivered a clear call:
The time to invest in the DRC has come. Join us and follow suit to build, with the Congolese people, an open, inclusive, and prosperous digital nation.”
