Medeama SC face Al Ahly in crucial CAF Champions League encounter

Medeama SC will resume their CAF Champions League campaign when they welcome Al Ahly, the most successful club in Africa, to Kumasi on Friday.

The continental tournament was on hold due to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, but it returns this weekend for the second-last round of the group stage.

The Mauve and Yellow have a golden opportunity to boost their chances of reaching the quarter-finals if they can overcome the 11-time African champions on Friday.

On the other hand, the defending champions can book their spot in the next round with a victory over the Ghanaian champions.

Medeama SC are determined to make an impact in the continental championship, having already knocked out Remo Stars and AC Horoya before stunning Algeria CD Belouizdad in Kumasi.

The Tarkwa-based club also boast a strong home record in the competition as they have not lost a game in Ghana.

The two-time FA Cup winners will travel to Algeria for their final group game against CD Belouizdad.[]
