FIFA has made 5,000 tickets available to Congolese supporters for DR Congo’s 2026 World Cup group-stage match against Portugal, according to 7sur7’s report. The match is scheduled for June 17, 2026, in Houston.

The ticket access was opened through FIFA’s sales portal in collaboration with FECOFA, the Congolese football federation. The measure is intended to help organize Congolese fan presence for the Leopards’ first match of the tournament.

The announcement was relayed by government spokesperson Patrick Muyaya after the latest Council of Ministers meeting. He said the information came from a note presented by the Minister of Sports on DR Congo’s World Cup preparations.

FIFA’s official schedule lists Portugal vs Congo DR as a Group K fixture on June 17 at Houston Stadium, while Houston reporting has also identified NRG Stadium as the venue for the match and noted that DR Congo will be based in the city during the tournament.

Beyond ticketing, Congolese authorities say the national team’s preparation plan is being structured around training sites, planned activities and friendly matches before the tournament begins.
