A Historic Alliance Between Africa and European Football Royalty

In a significant move that combines football, culture, and youth empowerment, FC Barcelona has announced a strategic four-year partnership with the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This groundbreaking agreement aims to position the DRC as a rising force in African sports development, while showcasing its rich cultural heritage to the world.

At the core of this partnership is a mutual mission: to promote peace, youth development, and multi-sport excellence across the DRC through the internationally admired Barça ecosystem.

R.D. Congo – Cœur d’Afrique”: A Symbol of Cultural Pride

As part of this deal, all of Barça's professional teams will wear the phrase "R.D. Congo – Cœur d’Afrique" (Heart of Africa) on the back of their training kits for the next four seasons (until 2028/29).

This symbolic gesture will shine a global spotlight on the DRC, reminding millions of fans and viewers of the country’s vibrant identity, resilience, and cultural richness every time the players step onto the pitch. As DR Congo continues to position itself as a rising ecotourism and cultural destination, this partnership with FC Barcelona gives its heritage the global stage it deserves.

Barça Academies Come to Congo: Youth Development at the Core

Through its global Barça Academies system, the club will launch a full program of sports activities, camps, and clinics across the DRC for children. These sessions will promote inclusive growth in Football, Basketball, Handball, Futsal, and Roller Hockey, ensuring Congolese youth benefit from world-class training from a young age.
