England winger Bukayo Saka has made it clear that shifting him from his usual right-wing position to left-back will not address the team’s issues. Saka, who started all three group stage games at Euro 2024 on the right side of midfield, believes this change would not be beneficial for the squad.

The Arsenal star contributed an assist for Jude Bellingham's goal in England's opening 1-0 victory against Serbia. However, Saka's own goal in the 0-0 draw with Slovenia was disallowed due to Phil Foden being offside during the build-up.

Despite winning Group C, England's performances have been underwhelming, and the team has faced criticism. Chelsea's Cole Palmer impressed in a 20-minute cameo during the last group game in Cologne, leading to calls for him to start. This has sparked suggestions that Saka could be moved to left-back, a position he played earlier in his career at Arsenal.

Addressing these speculations, Saka told BBC 5 Live that "putting me out of position" at left-back is not the answer for England. He emphasized that it’s up to manager Gareth Southgate to make the final decisions and that the team must trust his selections.
