SOUTH AFRICA — August 23, 2026 — Some of South Africa's best-known figures in music, fashion, film and the wider creative industry were honoured at the 2026 National Arts and Culture Awards (NACA), held at Sun City's Superbowl on Friday, August 21.
The ceremony, organised under the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, celebrated achievement across several creative fields. According to the official NACA website, the awards are intended to recognise leading South African creatives for outstanding artistic and technical achievement.
The 2026 ceremony was broadcast nationally on SABC1 on Saturday, August 22.
Black Coffee receives International Award
Grammy-winning South African DJ and producer Black Coffee was among the biggest names recognised during the Minister's Awards.
According to a Daily Sun report on the NACA 2026 ceremony, Black Coffee received the International Award, adding another major recognition to a career that has helped take South African electronic music to audiences around the world.
The honour places him among the prominent creative figures celebrated at this year's ceremony.
