Nigerian singer Bigiano has claimed that he contributed to Davido’s early hit Dami Duro, saying he wrote the song’s hook.
Speaking in an interview with content creator Akin Abolade, the Shayo crooner stated that his involvement was limited to the chorus of the track. “I wrote Dami Duro for Davido. I wrote the hook,” Bigiano said.
Addressing his absence from the music scene in recent years, Bigiano explained that he took time off to prepare for a stronger return. He described the break as a sabbatical intended to reposition his career.
The singer also dismissed suggestions of financial difficulty, insisting that he remains financially stable despite being away from the spotlight.
Released in 2011, Dami Duro is widely regarded as the song that launched Davido into mainstream success and has since been listed among notable Afrobeats songs by local and international commentators.
Bigiano, however, is not officially credited as a co-writer on the track. Davido has yet to publicly respond to the claim.
