Beeztrap KOTM a Ghanaian rapper and singer

Beeztrap KOTM is a Ghanaian rapper, singer and songwriter whose highlife melodies, spiritual writing and Kumasi-rooted drill delivery have made him one of Asakaa’s adaptable voices. Publicly known as Edwin Eshun, he broke through with “Distance Relationship” and widened his audience through “Fly Girl,” “YESU,” “Amen” and “Bad Feeling.”

His rise moved from local radio to winning 3Music Next Rated Act, the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Award for Best New Artiste and a 2026 TGMA Collaboration of the Year award for “Shoulder.” His debut studio album, POWER, turned that momentum into a 16-track statement about range.

Who is Beeztrap KOTM? Beeztrap KOTM, publicly known as Edwin Eshun, is a Ghanaian rapper and singer shaped by Kumasi’s Asakaa movement. He broke through with “Distance Relationship,” expanded through “Fly Girl,” won the 2025 TGMA Best New Artiste award and released his debut album, POWER, the same year.

“Distance Relationship” and the Breakthrough That Changed the Scale

Beeztrap KOTM’s first major turning point came through “Distance Relationship.” In a detailed 2023 interview with The Upper Entertainment, he explained that producer Stitches played a rough version for Reggie, who liked it and recorded a verse. O’Kenneth and Jay Bahd joined as the song moved through the shared creative network around Kumasi’s drill scene.

He recalled roughly 40,000 Audiomack streams on the first day and described shaking at the numbers. The response converted years of covers, free MP3 releases and freestyles into a recognisable audience. Follow-ups “By Grace” and “Cinderella” showed that the moment could become a career.

“Fly Girl” supplied the next expansion in 2024. The original with Oseikrom Sikanii highlighted Beeztrap’s melodic instinct, while the Gyakie remix softened the edges without removing the Kumasi character. Alongside “YESU,” “Bad Feeling” and Sarkodie’s “Amen,” it positioned him for awards attention beyond one drill lane.

Formative Life and Creative Roots Between Cape Coast and Kumasi

Beeztrap identifies his family origin with Cape Coast, but his public career was formed in Kumasi. The city matters not simply as a birthplace label; it supplied the collaborators, studios, street language and audience that made his early sound possible. XTRAfrica’s Ghana music collection places that development inside a wider national catalogue spanning highlife, hiplife, drill, gospel and Afrobeats.

He told The Upper Entertainment that his mother and sister sang in a church choir, an uncle kept a home studio and highlife played at his mother’s bar.
