Starting October 1, 2024, all international visitors to Zanzibar are required to purchase mandatory Inbound Travel Insurance from the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). This policy ensures coverage for medical emergencies, accidents, baggage delays, and more during your stay

📋 Application Process:

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to the ZIC Inbound Insurance Portal

2. Select Insurance Type: Choose the appropriate plan, Individual, Family, or Group.

3. Fill Out the Form:

   • Enter personal details: full name, nationality, and country of residence.

   • Provide passport information, including a clear photo of the passport (PDF, JPEG, or PNG format).

   • Input travel details: arrival and departure dates.

   • Specify the insurance type based on your travel party.

4. Review and Submit:

   • Confirm that all entered information is accurate.

   • Complete the CAPTCHA verification.

   • Agree to the terms and submit the application.

5. Make Payment:

   • Pay the insurance fee: $44 for adults, $22 for children aged 2–17, and free for children under 2.

   • Use a credit or debit card for payment.

6. Receive Policy Documents:

   • Within 24 to 48 hours, you'll receive your insurance certificate via email.

   • Print and carry this document, as it's required upon entry into Zanzibar

⚠️ Important Notes:

• Mandatory Requirement: This insurance is compulsory, regardless of any other travel insurance you may have.

• Purchase Timing: It's recommended to buy the insurance at least one month before your trip, ideally when applying for your Tanzania visa.

• On-Arrival Purchase: While it's possible to purchase the insurance upon arrival, pre-purchasing is advised to avoid entry delays.
