Collins Obinna Chibueze, known as Shaboozey, has made history on the Billboard Hot 100 with his hit single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)." The song has spent 17 weeks at number one, becoming the longest-running solo song to hold the top spot in the chart's 66-year history.
This milestone surpasses the record set by Morgan Wallen’s "Last Night," which led the chart for 16 weeks in 2023. Overall, "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is the second-longest-running number-one song, following "Old Town Road" by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus, which held the spot for 19 weeks in 2019.
Shaboozey, 29, was born in Virginia to Nigerian immigrant parents. His stage name originates from his Igbo name, Chibueze, meaning "God is King." A versatile artist, he blends genres like Hip-hop, Country, Rock, and Americana.
He first gained attention with "Start a Riot," featured on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack in 2018.
His name rose further in 2024 when Beyoncé featured him on two tracks from her album Cowboy Carter.
"A Bar Song (Tipsy)" was released in April 2024 and has become a global hit, breaking records and earning Shaboozey widespread recognition. Although he began his career in 2014 with the song "Jeff Gordon," his latest success has cemented his place in the music industry.
