The family of the late musician, Mohbad, is calling on anyone with information that could aid in the ongoing investigation into his death to come forward.
The family's legal team expressed concern over sensitive details about Mohbad's passing being shared publicly online. They urged that such information should be directed to law enforcement authorities rather than circulated on the internet.
Monisola Esther, a representative of the family's legal team, stated on Monday that the release of certain details to the public could potentially compromise the investigation. She emphasized that any useful information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known professionally as Mohbad, should be shared with the police or the family's legal team to ensure it reaches the appropriate channels.
"Given the sensitive nature of Mohbad's death and the ongoing release of information online, which should rightfully be given to the police, the Aloba Family’s Legal Team advises anyone with relevant information to contact us directly. This will help facilitate proper legal connectivity in the investigation,"
Esther stated.
She also noted that contacting the police would ensure the protection of witnesses and suspects involved in the case. Additionally, the coroner's inquest has issued witness summonses for individuals relevant to the investigation.
The statement clarified that Joseph Aloba, Mohbad's father, is solely focused on uncovering the truth behind his son's untimely demise. He is not seeking to pursue personal relationships at this time.
"The Coroner's Court is the appropriate platform for anyone with valuable information to assist in the court's fact-finding mission,"
the legal team added.
The investigation into Mohbad's death remains ongoing, with the family urging those with knowledge to step forward and contribute to the pursuit of justice.
