Nigerian singer Fireboy DML recently praised his colleague and YBNL label mate, Asake, for his exceptional talent and dynamic energy. During an interview with Ebro, Fireboy revealed that Asake recorded his verse for their 2022 hit 'Bandana' on a tour bus, attributing their effective collaboration to their longstanding friendship which dates back to their time at Obafemi Awolowo University in Ife.

Fireboy explained that the collaboration was encouraged by YBNL boss Olamide.

"Olamide suggested I feature Asake on ‘Bandana.’ We sent him the track, and he quickly recorded his verse on his tour bus. The energy was fantastic,"

he said.

Reflecting on their relationship, Fireboy noted,

"Asake and I have known each other since university. He's always had a vibrant personality and the charisma of a born star. We shared similar struggles and paths, which has only deepened our connection from our days in school."
